Metal support-guiding ring MSR-SHIK (spacer)

Product Overview

Support and guide ring "Spacer" D108 SHIK

Spacer is used when laying trunk pipelines passing through highways, railways, water barriers, and other obstacles, by the (pipe-pipe) method when the main (working) pipeline is laid through a protective case (“casing”, ”cartridge”, ”sleeve” (pipe of larger diameter)).

Spacer rings are mounted on the pipeline and provide dielectric insulation of the pipeline junction (separation of the main (working) pipe and the “case”), and also serve to mechanically protect the insulation coating and improve the dragging of the working pipeline through the “case”.

Spacer dielectric safety rings are assembled from segments and provide electrical insulation between two pipes, are resistant to chemical corrosion, pressure, mechanical and thermal shocks. The ring segments are made of metal. The segments are bolted together.

Selection Notes

Technical Review Points

  • Confirm nominal diameter, pressure class, medium and flange or welded connection requirements.
  • Review electrical isolation, coating and sealing requirements.
  • Test continuity and isolation after installation as part of commissioning.
